The program is designed to prepare graduates to:

  1. Examine current practice in relation to the guidelines of the current Occupational Therapy Practice Framework for occupation-focused, client-centered, and evidence-based occupational therapy.

  2. Make effective use of current scientific evidence to guide clinical reasoning.

  3. Apply management skills to design, market, and evaluate the quality of clinical services.

  4. Plan and conduct educational programming for clients and their caregivers, peers, students, policy-related bodies (local, state, and federal), and the general public.

The MS program supports applicants to meet these objectives by building on the knowledge and skills acquired in their BS-level professional program and during clinical practice. Courses require students to use this foundation to develop more advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills to support their role as effective practitioners.
