The program is designed
to prepare graduates to:
- Examine current practice in relation to the
guidelines of the current Occupational Therapy
Practice Framework for occupation-focused, client-centered,
and evidence-based occupational therapy.
- Make effective use of current scientific evidence
to guide clinical reasoning.
- Apply management skills to design, market,
and evaluate the quality of clinical services.
- Plan and conduct educational programming for
clients and their caregivers, peers, students,
policy-related bodies (local, state, and federal),
and the general public.
The MS program supports applicants to meet these
objectives by building on the knowledge and skills
acquired in their BS-level professional program
and during clinical practice. Courses require
students to use this foundation to develop more
advanced critical thinking and problem-solving
skills to support their role as effective practitioners.
